Longhorn Startup Seminar - CS Course offered by UT and led by Joshua Baer + Bob Metcalfe that introduces students to the world of startups.

 

Longhorn Startup Lab - UT course that provides "Hands-on Mentorship for Active Startup Teams." Works closely with Longhorn Startup Seminar.

 

LAH 325: Liberal Arts Entrepreneur - "This three-credit, upper-division course is designed to help you use your creativity, innovative ideas, and skills to create an entrepreneurial business.

Startup Meetup - Hosts regular "meetups" where UT entrepreneurs can come together to network, form teams, and learn about local startup culture.

 

Technology Entrepreneurship Society - "Focuses on identifying, cultivating, and supporting the current and future entrepreneurs in the UT technological community."

McCombs Entrepreneur Society - "Organization of students and alumni from the McCombs School of Business at UTexas and entrepreneurs in Austin."

 

StartATX - "Support and encourage students to start their own companies & place students in internships and full-time positions at promising startups."

Herb Kelleher Center for Entrepreneurship - Support entrepreneurship education through incubators, EIR, speaker series, competitions, faculty publications, and more.

 

Austin Technology Incubator's SEAL Program - The University of Texas's 12 week summer program designed to help student teams tackle the most difficult, deal-killing questions of their new ventures.

 

Bridging Disciplines Program (Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship) - "Through an interdisciplinary program that combines courses from Business, Communication, Fine Arts, and Liberal Arts, students will learn how ideas, inventions, talents, and skills are developed and transformed into commercial and social ventures."

 

Bridging Disciplines (Social Entrepreneurship and Non-Profits) - Program that allows students to create their own coursework related to social entrepreneurship and non-profits.

 

McCombs Entrepreneur-in-Residence - Yearly position filled by Austin area entrepreneur. Serves as a mentor to students, host office hours and a speaker series with other prominent entrepreneurs. (Current 2013-2014 EIR is Brett Hurt of Bazaarvoice)

 

Texas Venture Labs - "Campus-wide initiative to accelerate start-ups in taking their innovations to market in order to transform graduate students into entrepreneurs and business leaders."

 

Dell Social Innovation Challenge - Online social innovation community that supports students in their entrepreneurial projects.

 

Austin Tech Incubator - "Harnesses business, government and academic resources to provide strategic counsel, operational guidance, and infrastructure support to its member companies to help them transition into successful, high growth technology businesses."

 

UT Horizon Fund - "The strategic venture fund of the University of Texas System. Our dual mission is to improve commercialization of technologies out of research at UT System institutions and provide a positive return on investment."

 

Design Futures - "Design Futures PID Leadership Forum brings together a select group of multi-disciplinary students and recognized leaders in the PID field to explore the emergence of PID in history, its philosophical roots, and contemporary challenges around practicing PID."
